RFID Engineer
Overview: The RFID Systems Engineer (SE) is the technical facilitator of the design, implementation and acceptance support for complex hardware solutions involving RFID, networking, and radio frequency technology. The SE will team with the Systems Consultant (SC), Business Systems Consultant (BSC), or Project Manager (PM) to provide a comprehensive solution. The SE will function as a for-fee resource and concentrate on two deliverable areas. As a lab supervisor, the SE will maintain and utilize the lab for RFID solution testing including the use of multiple brands of hardware and formats of labels. As a RF Systems Engineer be responsible for designing and installing complex networking and wireless solutions. Specifically the SE will be involved in conducting for fee site surveys, coordination activities, system design activities, installations, testing, training, start-up support, troubleshooting and documentation.
Responsibilities: Assist in designing technical solutions (work in conjunction with RFID partner) Assist in auditing the technical soundness of the solutions provided Perform RF site surveys Perform RF system installations Perform RFID lab testing and verification Present RFID solutions to corporate customers in a lab environment Supervise employee interaction with the lab Perform technical consultation in conjunction with the SC and for internal customers Perform user, administrator and maintenance level training Verify the installed RF system performs against the expectations set in the Site Survey Support customers during the system commissioning and provide assistance with technical issues Completes internal and external system documentation Identifies, communicates and resolves technical issues Assist in the hand-off of an installed system to maintenance and support department Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in a Technical field. 2-3 years experience working with technology in small and medium size companies (revenues ranging from $1MM to $100MM) required. RF Manufacturer Certifications (Symbol, Intermec, Cisco, very helpful) Multiple RFID Manufacturer Certifications (Symbol and Alien very helpful) 1-2 years RF, networking and printer solutions design and implementation experience required. 1-2 year project management experience desired. 1-2 year field sales, service, or consulting experience required. Demonstrated written, verbal, and presentation skills. Prior experience facilitating partnerships and cross-functional technical teams.
